The Flyboys Movie Opens Today
We were definitely excited to hear about the locally filmed movie, THE FLYBOYS. Our excitement grew as we learned the film has won 43 Film Festival Awards in 2008. Then we went to watch the trailer. It had us asking for more. The best news of all: THE FLYBOYS is scheduled to open in St. George theatres today! (Click here for a schedule of events)
THE FLYBOYS is a story about two boys who accidentally stow away aboard a small airplane owned by the mob. This film appears to be a story of action, adventure and courage. Also, the aerial theme is a major film feature. THE FLYBOYS was written, directed and produced by Roco DeVilliers. Apparently this movie will be released only in theatres, and will not be available on home video until sometime next year.
It’s interesting to note that the Cessna 207 aircraft, used in many of the air-to-air scenes throughout the movie, is owned by the mayor of St. George, Dan McArthur. McArthur showed his excitement for the film when he said ”This film will be a classic. Everyone, both young and old, can relate to the emotions portrayed in the film. It will remind us of our youth and give adults a place to begin a dialog with their youth about everyday experiences. THE FLYBOYS is a film that will one day be a part of my movie collection. I can hardly wait for its release.” Thanks for the great insight Dan!
We can’t wait to give you a full review of the film after we return home from the movies. Until then, stay tuned for more information. If you are interested in learning more about this film, or watching the trailer, please visit these sites:

The Flyboys movie was great! I liked this movie because it was a great story. It reminded me what it was like to be a kid. I also liked the fact that movie had a strong focus on family values. There were some funny scenes; like when the kids were being chased by the bully’s older brother. There were also some very suspenseful aerial scenes. This is a great movie for the whole family. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars!
