Candida is not a root cause of health problems

This news article was written with the intent to clarify some of the misunderstandings that might be floating around when it comes to candida and it’s place in illness.  I am not a licensed medical doctor (which may or may not be a good thing, depending on who you are), just someone with a passion for natural medicine.  These are just my thoughts and perspectives; nothing less and nothing more.

Your body is an ecosystem

First I want you to imagine a beautiful park with flowers in bloom, beautiful green grass, pools of fresh clear water and birds singing.  What does this represent?  It’s an ecosystem, and probably a fairly healthy one based on my description.

Your body is also an ecosystem.  It facilitates an environment for microorganisms to either flourish or die.  Where organisms live generally depends on their environment.  You don’t see too many polar bears walking around in desert.

A healthy body is like the beautiful park I just described.  All of the microorganisms in the body work in harmony with their environment, and in return, their environment takes care of them.  I believe this is called symbiosis.  So this is a balanced body; clean and perfect.

Now I want you to imagine a toxic waste dump.  What kind of ecosystem does this look like compared to the beautiful park?  Do you think green grass will want to grow there?  Do you think the birds will like there?  You get the point, it’s not the same ecosystem.

It’s not much different with the body.  You create the environment, and the microorganisms take up residency.  If your body is not balanced and clear of toxins, then don’t expect the good guys to live there.  They have choices too ya know.  Instead, you can expect candida and other unwanted pathogens to take up residency.

If you build it, they will come

It is my opinion that if you want to get rid of candida forever, work on your ecosystem.  Yes candida diets are helpful, but they are not a long-term fix because they do not always address underlying problems.  Rebuilding your ecosystem is the wonderful journey where true healing takes place.

You might be asking “How do I rebuild my ecosystem?”  The answer is really beyond the scope of this article, but let me attempt to give you some pointers.  First look at your diet and lifestyle.  Do they fall in line with natural laws, or are you living unnaturally?  Make it your goal to live naturally when it comes to diet and lifestyle.

Another useful tip in correcting your ecosystem is to look at it’s current state.  In other words, what is messed up?  Is your liver toxic?  Detoxify it.  Do you have weak endocrine glands?  Strengthen them.  These are the keys to rebuilding your ecosystem into the beautiful park.  Once you’ve built the right ecosystem, the good guys will come.

In the end I believe everyone needs to think of their own body as an ecosystem.  Doing so will be helpful in keeping you healthy.  I hope you have found this information helpful.  Here’s to your health!
