Aging and Minerals

As we grow older mineral deficiencies are more likely to occur. 1  Why does this happen?  There may be many factors involved in mineral deficiencies aside from age itself: 2

  1. Chronic disease or illness
  2. Poor diet (read Avoiding Mineral Deficiencies)
  3. Impaired nutrient absorbtion

Old age can create one or more of the causes listed above.  As we grow older our bodies start to break down.  As the body breaks down, mineral deficiencies can occur, causing a deeper level of health problems.  Therefore it is important to keep your body strong and prevent mineral deficiencies.

Aging gracefully and preventing mineral deficiencies

The key to aging gracefully involves keeping the body strong, and a healthy lifestyle is a great place to start. 3  Diet, exercise and rest are the key parts of a healthy lifestyle. 4 Perform moderate exercise about five times per week.  Get at least eight hours of sleep every night.  Eat a wide variety of organic or biodynamic whole foods.

Mineral supplements are extra insurance

A good mineral supplement provides “health insurance” by keeping your body strong.  Life isn’t perfect, and we can’t always follow the perfect lifestyle.  Our mineral supplements provide extra insurance, by preventing mineral deficiencies and keeping you healthy.  After all, life is about feeling good and doing the things you want to do.
