Hormone Replacement Therapy

Menopause - the end of menstruation, is caused by a decline in the production of two hormones, estrogen and progesterone, by the ovaries.

Both estrogen and progesterone are known for their role in sexuality and reproduction, but both perform a wide range of other critical tasks in the body. At menopause the body’s overall estrogen levels decline about 80 percent, and although the ovaries are no longer making estrogen, some estrogen is still being produced by the adrenal glands and fat tissue.  Production of progesterone is virtually nothing, and many women feel the loss of these  hormones acutely.

Men go through a change very much like women in their middle years.  Just like women, men also experience complex hormonal rhythms that affect their sexuality, mood, and temperament. But some men don’t experience much of a crisis; they just continue living through the first part of their life and into the second. Others go through a period of great turbulence, but then are redeemed and find a new course and approach for the second passage of their lives.

The Flyboys Movie Opens Today

We were definitely excited to hear about the locally filmed movie, THE FLYBOYS.  Our excitement grew as we learned the film has won 43 Film Festival Awards in 2008.  Then we went to watch the trailer.  It had us asking for more.  The best news of all: THE FLYBOYS is scheduled to open in St. George theatres today!  (Click here for a schedule of events)
